  Describe a person who has interesting ideas

  you should say :

  who this person is

  how you know this person

  what interesting ideas/opinions he or she has

  and explain why you think his/her ideas are interesting

  Part 2 解析

  Who this person is

  I would like to describe one of my friends, a boy at his 20 years old. He is a handsome boy with short hair, small but sparkling eyes. He is now a college student in Xi’an Jiaotong University.

  How you know this person

  I knew him during a travel to Hong Kong two years ago. In that summer vocation, I finished my university entrance exam which is a quite important exam in China, and I decided to reward myself a tour to Hong Kong as a gift. But my parent didn’t allow me to go alone, so I joined a tour package, where I met him. I found we were from the same city, the same community. What a coincidence!

  a tour package 旅行团

  What a coincidence!

  What interesting ideas/opinions he or she has

  有人知识渊博,对各地建筑非常感兴趣,想要环游世界;

  有人对小发明特别感兴趣,喜欢捣鼓一些自己发明的设备;

  有人喜欢观察星星,常常夜晚拿着望远镜看星空;

  I think he is interesting maybe because he is knowledgeable. When we went around the city, he could describe me historical stories behind those buildings. I was surprised by his broad knowledge, and he said he spent lots of time reading all kinds of books and enjoyed absorbing knowledge like a sponge. He also wanted to travel around the world and write travelling blog and video travelling vlog, and now he travels a lot and started a blogger to keep his interesting moments during a tour.

  and explain why you think his/her ideas are interesting

  First, I think he is an interesting guy because you would find a travel with him exciting, I mean, you will get to know some funny stories which broadens your horizon. Besides, his ideas are interesting because most of us follow a routine: graduate from school, find a job to support family and live an ordinary life. But his ideas at least give me an insight that life can be different and colorful.

  follow a routine 循规蹈矩

  Part 3 解析

  When do children begin to have their own ideas?

  Personally, I believe that depends on how parents raise their children. If parents are willing to make efforts to teach their children to be good makers and allow them to make decisions, then children are more likely to own their independent ideas earlier. By contrast, if parents make all decisions for their children, it would be difficult for them to have their own ideas.

  Why are there more and more differences between children and their parents?

  I am convinced that there is definitely a generation gap between parents and children, because the age gap between parents and children is roughly 25 years old. During this period of time, there are so many technological advancements, and children have access to more and more different information from both home and abroad, or different kinds of people. Thus, children would develop different values towards the world from their parents. That is the gap generation.

  What are the advantages and disadvantages of setting rules for children?

  There are both advantages and disadvantages of setting rules for

  children. The good point is that they would learn the importance of the rules and they would learn to obey rules in order to avoid some mistakes, which is also an important quality in society. The drawbacksmay appear in the lack of independent thinking ability, and they prefer to obey instructions from others instead of doing some creative work; they may become rigid and less flexible.
