Okay, so a time I saw children behaving badly in public was when I saw a boy throwing a temper tantrum at a toy store since his parents wouldn’t buy him a remote control car. So, this was at a toy store in a major shopping center, so there were obviously a lot of people.
The boy was probably six or seven, and the entire time, he was kicking and screaming that he wanted to buy the toy. His parents tried to console him by saying that they would take him to the playground afterwards, but their efforts were completely futile. The boy couldn’t stop crying and making a scene, and the parents seemed really flustered as well.
Um, as for how other people reacted to it, some of them glanced at what was happening in passing, but walked away afterwards. I also saw some other children whispering to their parents or even rolling their eyes. One of the store cashiers also approached the scene to see if there was anything wrong.
To wrap things up, I felt like the boy was rather spoiled and disrespectful, but temper tantrums are also quite common among children his age. I think he needs to learn to gradually accept that he won’t always get what he wants in life and that he needs to appreciate what he already has. And, well, I believe parents are responsible for teaching their children these values as well as social etiquette.
